Vinfast VF7 Real-World Range Revealed

The VF7 is the flagship electric SUV of Vinfast’s lineup in India. It also comes with an option of AWD (All-Wheel Drive). The VF7 provides a real-world range of 400-450 Km, depending on the traffic conditions and how sedately you drive the car. The real-world range further drops to 350 Km, if driven enthusiastically. 

According to Vinfast, the claimed MIDC range of the VF7 is 510 km on a single charge. We had a talk with the owner of the Vinfast VF7 Sky Infinity AWD model. 

Vinfast VF7 Range Test (100% to 0%)

The user provided the exact range figures of the VF7. He told us that if the car was driven with a heavy foot, then it provided an exact real-world range of 350 Km on a single charge, which is pretty decent, especially if you are pushing the EV hard. 

Inter-City Runs: He also did a proper BMS calibration and drove with a light-foot from 100% SOC (State-of-Charge) to 3% SOC, and achieved 450 Km of range on a single charge, specifically in Lucknow Traffic. 

Highway Test: The user also did a highway test by going from Jaipur to Lucknow and managed to get 400 Km of real-world range on a single charge. He was totally satisfied with the performance, going by the spec-sheet of the VF7. 

Vinfast VF7 Cost Savings

The user had significant cost savings by using a 3.2 kW slow charger at home, as according to him there was no need for a 7 kW setup, as he was using the VF7 as his secondary car. In-short, the user was very happy with the VF7 AWD and pretty much satisfied with the performance and range efficiency of the car.
