A battery is the most important component of an electric car, costing around 70% of the cost of the car. So, it is natural to wonder, what if we need to replace the battery in an unfortunate event?

Note: to answer this question, our All About EVs team did research and reached out to TATA EV service centre in Gurgaon to get all the numbers. In this article, we will be giving you detail of the replacement cost for the batteries of Tiago EV in 2025.

Tata Tiago Ev Battery Replacement Cost

Talking about the battery specifications, Tata Tiago EV comes with two battery packs, a 19.2 kWh battery pack and 24 kWh battery pack. The cost of replacement of both the batteries at tata's official service center is given below.

The battery costs are confirmed by All About EVs from Tata’s official workshop. This price includes the cost of a new battery, but doesn't include the labour cost. Although this is a current price but it can vary according to the market trends and technological advancements. 

When do You Need to Replace Your Tata Tiago EV Battery?

Several factors like battery usage and current state are important to consider before deciding if you need to replace your ev battery. Tata service center usually provides option to replace only the damaged parts/cells in case of minor issues and these issues are covered in the warranty. However you might need to have a battery protect addon included in your insaurance to cover any sort of physical or accidental damage. 

Low Battery Capacity: The capacity of the High voltage battery will decrease with time and usage to hold charge like all such batteries. As the battery ages and capacity decreases, this will result in a decrease from the vehicle’s initial mileage range. This is normal, expected, and not indicative of any defect in your High voltage battery. 

End of Life Cycle: When the HV Battery reaches the end of its life cycle, the charging capacity or State of health reduces. During such decrease in charge capacity and range of vehicle, contact an authorized service centre and get the SoH of Battery pack get inspected.

Vehicle Collision: If the vehicle is involved in a collision, we recommend that you contact an authorized TATA MOTORS EV dealer to inspect if the high voltage battery is still connected or damaged in any way.

Tata Tiago EV Battery Warranty

The warranty on the battery and motor shall be for a period of 96 months from the date of sale of car or a mileage of 1,60,000 KMs whichever occurs earlier.

Tata's obligation under this warranty shall be limited to repairing or replacing, free of charge, such parts of the car which, in their opinion, are defective, on the car being brought to them within the warranty period. The parts so repaired or replaced shall also be warranted for quality and workmanship but such warranty shall be co-terminus with this original warranty. 

• Any part which is found to be defective and is replaced by us under the warranty shall be our property.
• This warranty shall not apply if the car or any part thereof is repaired or altered otherwise than in accordance with our standard repair procedure.

TATA MOTORS recommends the purchase of its extended warranty program that can act as an extended cover to your battery warranty.

Extended Warranty is available in the dealership from where you have purchased your vehicle. The Dealer Service Marketing Executive shall explain to you the Terms and conditions, Coverage and Owner’s responsibility.
