Bajaj Auto has introduced a cost-effective variant of its popular Chetak scooter. The new budget scooter is termed as Chetak 3001 and is launched at an economical price of Rs 1 Lakh (Ex-Showroom). The Bajaj Chetak 3001 has replaced the older 2903, which was previously sold in India.

If we compare the Chetak 3001 to 2903, then the new model is around Rs 1,500 expensive and also comes equipped with a newer frame, a larger battery on offer, and additional features.

Bajaj Chetak 3001: Battery & Performance

Bajaj has presented a new floorboard-mounted battery in the new Chetak 3001. This battery is able to provide more storage space and helps in giving a lower center of gravity. The upgraded scooter comes with a slightly larger 3.0 kWh battery pack, allowing for a notable range of 127 Km on a single charge, which is a 4 Km enhancement from the former 2903 series.

Additionally, the new scooter boasts a spacious 35-litre boot and offers fast charging support, utilizing a 750-watt charger that achieves 0-80% charge in just 3 hours and 50 minutes.

The President of Urbanite Business Unit, Bajaj Auto, expressed his views on the launch of the new scooter and said, “Chetak 3001 has set a new standard in the field of electric scooter. Constructed on a brand new platform, it delivers optimum performance and range which the current user demands. Our scooters are designed to provide long-term reliability and quality of service.

Designed for urban commuters, the Chetak 3001 aims to compete fiercely with petrol scooters, providing a stronger, larger, and more efficient choice at an ex-showroom price of Rs 99,990.”

Bajaj Chetak 3001 Features

With the Tecpac option, Bajaj enriches the Chetak 3001 by adding numerous features. Among these are Bluetooth connectivity with integrated call alerts, music control, Guide Me Home Lights, Hill Hold Assist, a Reverse Light, and an auto-flashing stop lamp. The scooter is designed with an all metal body.

The Chetak 3001 is set to be incorporated into the existing 3000 Chetak series, which features models such as the 3501, 3502, and 3503. The 3503, in particular, comes with an enhanced 3.5 kWh battery pack, offering a claimed range of 153 Km.

Bajaj sells the Chetak series via its dedicated dealerships across India and has established more than 3,800 service centers throughout the country.
