Thinking about purchasing the I7? BMW is now covering your registration fees.

Ever Imagined about purchasing a luxury car and the company paying your registration fees? BMW has brought this imagination into reality by including the registration charges, GST and cess in the ex-showroom price of the flagship electric I7 sedan’s eDrive50 model.
In 2023, the BMW i7 was unveiled, and its eDrive50 variant is now listed at Rs 2.05 crores, which accounts for registration, GST, and cess. This offer will be applicable on all authorised BMW India showrooms.
BMW I7 Registration Charge & Exemption from GST
BMW India has clarified that they will be covering the registration fees instead of the customer at the time of registration, and this offer is only applicable on authorised dealerships in India.
Additionally, while GST and cess are part of this deal, the customer must cover the tax collected at source (TCS), insurance, and other local taxes.
BMW I7 Technical Specifications
The I7 comes with two variants: eDrive50 and M70, which are priced from 2.05 crores to Rs 2.5 crores. It was earlier launched with xDrive60 variant which cost Rs 1.95 crores and was powered by a dual-motor generating 544 Hp. Recently, BMW India has swapped the xDrive60 for their new eDrive 50 model, which was released in October 2024.
eDrive50: The eDrive50 is powered by a 101.7 kWh battery pack producing a peak power of 449 Hp integrated with a single-motor setup, providing a substantial range of 603 Km on a single charge. To fully charge the eDrive50, it takes roughly 10 hours and 45 minutes when powered by an 11kW AC charger.
This variant also supports a 195 kW fast charger which has the ability to charge the batteries from 0-80% in just 34 minutes.
M70 xDrive: This is a top-spec variant in the I7 lineup, which is available at a price of Rs 2.5 crores. It is powered by the same 101.7 kWh battery pack, but generates higher power at 650 Hp and a mighty torque of 1,015 Nm of peak torque that powers all the four wheels.
It gets a claimed range of 560 Km on a single charge which is considerably lesser than the eDrive50. But this offer is not applicable on this top-spec variant.
Competition
If we consider the competitive landscape for the I7 eDrive 50, it will be in the same price bracket as the Mercedes EQS sedan, which is priced at Rs 1.63 Crore. The M70 variant does not have direct competition, but earlier it used to compete from Mercedes-AMG EQS 53 4Matic.
