BMW India aims for a 30% share of electric vehicle sales by 2030.

BMW India, one of the luxury manufacturers is projecting a contribution of 30% of its total EV sales before 2030, as the brand is witnessing a constant increase in demand. The President and CEO of BMW India, Hardeep Singh Brar states that this might be possible due to new product launches and a major shift towards electric transportation.
Looking at the current situation, the electric vehicle portfolio of BMW stands at 21% of its total sales in India. Brar further expressed that the company has planned to introduce electric vehicles across every segment it is operating in, thus reflecting its long term vision towards net zero emissions and accelerating to an advanced sustainable mobility.
BMW Group India sold 2,509 electric BMW and MINI models between the time period of January and September 2025, thus registering a 246% year-on-year growth rate.
The company expects this momentum to rise abundantly as infrastructure for electric vehicles is constantly improving and consumer interests for luxury EVs is constantly rising across India.
