Hyundai has caught the attention of electric vehicle fans by unveiling a unique race car concept inspired by the Inster Micro-EV. This innovative design is called the Insteroid, as the car resembles a ‘playful interpretation’ of the Inster EV, the Korean manufacturer calls it Inster on steroids. The design has taken cues from video game aesthetics. Hyundai will reveal this car to the general public in April.

Overview of Insteroid Design

The most exceptional feature of Insteroid is its bold WRC-style double-decker rear wing. This gives it a race-car type look and gives it a unique character. It also gets hugely flared front and rear bumpers, with the addition of fenders featuring gaping air vents for making it more aerodynamic.

The interesting thing about Insteroid is that none of the body panels are taken from the Inster. There is also an addition of a wide-arch body kit that goes from front to back. The common styling cues taken from the Inster EV are the circular LED headlamps and signature pixel LED tail-lights.

Hyundai has added 21-inch wheels with aero covers that come with three holes at the center. The concept also gets a roof scoop and a bigger rear diffuser. On the other hand, the interior appears entirely bare and is equipped with a roll cage.

Hyundai has said that there are fun elements in the interior and have styled it in a unique way, which includes the control buttons and instrument cluster. The company has not revealed any technical details as yet, but Hyundai will be showcasing this exciting car in April and more details will unfold shortly.
