Tsuyo, which is a Delhi startup developing various powertrain solutions for electric vehicles, has entered into an LOI agreement with the Government of Karnataka, in order to establish a EV powertrain production facility and a dedicated testing track for commercial vehicles in Dharwad. 

The LOI was signed during the Bengaluru Tech Summit 2025 under the presence of Shri Priyank Kharge, Minister of Rural Development & Panchayat Raj, IT & Biotechnology, Government of Karnataka, senior government officials, Lalit L. Baid, Director of Tsuyo Manufacturing Pvt. Ltd. and members of the MM Activ Sci-Tech communications. 

The facility will be focussing on manufacturing heavy-duty EV powertrain systems for commercial transportation and industry applications. Let’s look at the list of components the new facility will be concentrating upon. 

  • Electric Motors (IPMSM, ACIM, SRM, SynRM, Axial Flux)
  • E-Drives
  • E-Axles and Automatic Transmissions (AT)
  • Integrated 2-in-1 and 3-in-1 powertrain solutions
  • Complete powertrain assemblies focusing on heavy commercial EVs. 
  • A dedicated testing track focusing specifically on heavy field testing and validation of buses, trucks, mining vehicles, and other commercial EVs. 

The plant will be supporting manufacturing capacity from 0.5 kW to 250 kW, with an increased capacity of up to 600 kW through joint collaboration with CETL and LvKON.
