Kia Carens Clavis EV is likely to be introduced in India later this year.
The electric model of the recently launched Clavis, a luxurious rethinking of the Carens, will soon be available from Kia. The company expects to launch the car sometime at the end of 2025. Currently Kia is working on two new electric models for India, one exclusively catered for family use and the other positioned for broader market needs.
Kia is working on the development of an upcoming RV which will be inspired by Clavis ICE and is scheduled to launch at the end of 2025. To differentiate from its petrol sibling, the new electric model will have unique styling cues and new feature upgrades. The front fascia will feature new LED Daytime running lights and a different set of alloy wheels.
Claris EV Battery & Expected Powertrains
Kia might share the battery powertrains from Creta Electric, which was launched early this year. Apart from the same batteries, Kia will be providing an extended list of features, more storage space and practicality in the Clavis EV.
The Clavis EV will be the first electric vehicle in the MUV segment, thus having no direct competitors, but its top model will compete with the likes of BYD eMax 7.
If we consider the Creta Electric, it is fitted with two battery packs of 42 kWh and 51.4 kWh, where the larger battery provides a notable range of 473 Km and 390 Km for a smaller battery pack. However due to longer length and extra weight, the batteries in Clavies EV are expected to return less range as compared to Creta Electric.
POWER: The Creta Electric is equipped with a front-axel mounted motor which generates 135 PS of maximum power in the regular model, while the top spec produces a peak power of 171 PS.
Kia Clavis EV Features
The upcoming Clavis EV will come loaded with features such as addition of a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system integrated with a similar 12.3-inch digital display.
Other features include connected car tech, dual-panel sunroof, Level 2 ADAS with 20 autonomous driving functions, ventilated seats, Boss Mode, multiple airbags and Automatic A/C.
