MG Windsor Pro Set to Debut on May 6: What Can We Expect from This EV?

JSW MG Motors is introducing a long range version of their most popular EV, Windsor Pro to the Indian Market. The newest iteration of the MG Windsor EV has been seen on the streets without any disguise, signaling the car's impending release. Redefined as MG Windsor Pro, this variant is expected to launch on May 6, 2025. 

The Windsor Pro is MG’s attempt to address the major issue in the car and that is smaller battery and less significant range, as the new model will be equipped with a larger battery pack and promises longer range as compared to normal Windsor. 

The moment Windsor EV got launched in the Indian market, it became popular in its segment and was termed as a value for money preposition. MG has given the choices of either a full purchase or battery-as-a-subscription model. Now with the Pro variant, MG is gearing up to expand its sales. 

Apart from this, The Windsor Pro will feature advanced technology features, let’s discuss these key features in detail.

Vehicle-To-Load Tech (V2L)

The Pro version of the MG Windsor will come with an advanced Vehicle-To-Load or V2L technology, which gives the Windsor the capability to charge other electric devices and equipment using the car’s battery pack’s energy. 

The Windsor Pro will incorporate Vehicle-To-Vehicle (V2V) technology, enabling it to charge another electric vehicle using the power from its own battery pack.

ADAS Level 2

With ADAS Level 2 technology, MG will empower the Windsor Pro, offering a total of 12 vital safety features, including Traffic Jam Assist and Adaptive Cruise Control, and Lane Departure Warning, with other features as well. 

The MG Windsor Pro's ADAS suite will deliver alerts using audio signals, visual indicators, and haptic feedback, each categorized into three levels of warning. The V2L, V2V and ADAS advanced tech features are not available in the standard Windsor EV. 

Larger Battery Pack 

MG Motors will be heavily updating the battery pack on the Windsor Pro to make it even more attractive, reliable and a value for money deal in this price segment, Featuring a new 50.6 kWh battery pack, the Windsor EV promises an exceptional range of 460 km with every charge.

It is important to note that the standard Windsor EV is powered by a 38 kWh battery and provides a range of 332 Km on single charge.
