Nissan Leaf NISMO EV launched in Japan at 6,601,100 Yen

Nissan has launched the all-new third generation Nissan Leaf NISMO in the Japanese market, underpinned by a completely new generation EV platform with significant upgrades in driving range, driving performance and advanced technologies. 

The Nissan Leaf is the brand’s most popular electric vehicle that sold an impressive 7 lakh units globally since the launch of its first-generation model way back in 2010. After its roaring success, Nissan introduced the all-new third generation LEAF in Japan. 

Nissan Leaf NISMO Technical Details 

Despite being engineered at the core of an ‘agile intelligent sport crossover’, the Nissan Lead NISMO comes equipped with NISMO specific tuning that provides exceptional performance and is highly responsive to throttle inputs. 

The vehicle is also lighter in weight than before and is more agile according to its size and weight. The suspension comes with NISMO-specific springs, stabilisers, and selected member bushes which helps in enhancing suspension rigidity and improving steering response. 

The LEAF NISMO also rides on new Michelin Pilot Sport 5 sports tires which offer superior grip and control. It also gets four drive modes to choose from: Standard, ECO, Sport and Personal. The NISMO tuning is specifically for Standard, ECO, and Sport modes. 

Switching to Sports mode enhances power delivery, making the acceleration linear to the electric motor, which is unique in the case of EVs as it comes with a special ‘NISMO Mode’. However, the Standard and ECO modes are provided for a more comfortable ride experience. 

The Nissan LEAF NISMO is also the first EV to use regenerative braking with control paddles and four settings to choose from. These include Level 1, where deceleration force is restricted. In Level 2 it increases and provides higher efficiency.

The cabin of the LEAF NISMO is designed with an all-black theme featuring high-quality interiors integrated with red accented details. This provides an engaging driving environment for the users as it helps them to stay focussed while driving the car at high speeds.
