A fresh Mahindra SUV platform set to launch on August 15

Mahindra is bringing a revolutionary SUV platform that will be powering all next generation SUVs on India's 78th Independence Day. The new platform will be powering the next generation Mahindra SUVs and will be manufactured at Chakan Plant. Mahindra’s new platform will be called New Flexible Architecture (NFA).
Details about the new Mahindra platform
According to news from various sources, Mahindra has started developing its new multi-energy platform, as the new Chakan factory will be producing next generation SUVs based on this new platform.
Introducing the New Flexible Architecture (NFA), a monocoque platform designed to support a diverse range of next-generation SUVs from Mahindra. This groundbreaking platform is flexible enough to handle multiple powertrains, including gasoline, diesel, hybrid, and all-electric configurations.
This is quite a strategic move by the manufacturer as this platform can be utilised for all powertrains, which means now they don’t have to develop a specific platform for petrol, Hybrid or ICE.
The Executive Director and CEO of the Automotive and Farm Equipment Sectors, Rajesh Jejurikar, expressed his views on this by explaining, "This marks the launch of a new platform. It is not a car launch. It is a launch of a platform which will be developing the brand’s next generation SUVs and concepts that will be reshaped from it.”
New Models to be Introduced by 2026
Rumors suggest that Mahindra is set to launch the next-generation Bolero by 2026, likely built on the innovative NFA platform. This aligns with the company's strategy to unveil two mid-cycle facelifts and one completely new model in India by next year.
Mahindra is set to introduce the Bolero EV, built on the innovative NFA platform, with an anticipated launch in the Indian market around 2026, as suggested in the company's Q4 2024 earnings report.
Upcoming launch schedule for the new Mahindra models
Mahindra's innovative NFA platform will facilitate the creation of 12 new models, all set to debut by the close of this decade. The company has introduced the XUV 3XO and Thar Roxx, in addition to the BE 6 and XEV 9e in the electric vehicle sector.
Thus by the end of this decade, Mahindra will be introducing 7 ICE models and 5 EVs.
