As per the company, the vehicle can be used for both urban and non-urban commutes, including the Tier 2 and Tier 3 markets, even where charging infrastructure is limited. This certification will also help Ola to do extensive application of 4680 Bharat Cell Technology across its entire two-wheeler lineup, which includes electric scooters and motorcycles.

The company will be also using the same cell platform in Ola Shakti as a part of its vertically integrated approach ultimately covering cells, battery packs, and vehicle platforms.

The certification process included extensive vehicle-level testing which is mandatory by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) specifically done for Battery Operated Vehicles (BoV) in the electric two-wheeler category. These tests consist of constructional and functional safety, range, noise, electromagnetic compatibility, and braking performance.
