The much-awaited BMW iX4 has been spotted testing at the roads of Germany ahead of its launch later this year. As the name suggests, the iX4 will follow a coupe SUV design to the BMW iX3, which was first showcased in 2025. The iX4 will be based on the fourth generation of the X4, and will be the first version of the coupe SUV to offer an all-electric powertrain.

BMW iX4 Design

According to the spy shots, the iX4 sports a visually different design than the iX3 and gets a sharply raked roofline, providing a sportier appearance. The iX4 will also feature BMW’s Neue Klasse design language, also seen on the iX3.

On the front, it is expected to feature a sleek black panel equipped with LED headlamps, along with diagonal DRLs. Visually, the front bumper is quite similar to the iX4, which is likely to come with a different set of alloy wheels, as well as inclusion of a bootlid spoiler.

BMW iX4 Interiors

The interiors are expected to be identical to the iX3 in terms of dashboard design, which means the all-electric coupe SUV may get a rhomboidal 17.9-inch infotainment touchscreen, 4-spoke steering wheel, and a pillar-to-pillar Panoramic Vision Display.

BMW is also expected to offer various interior colour schemes and upholstery options for the iX4 as well.

BMW iX4 Performance and Range

POWER: The iX4 is expected to be powered by the same 800V architecture and 108.7 kWh battery pack as of the iX3. The iX3 is equipped with dual motors that generate 469 Hp of maximum power output and 645 Nm of peak torque, with a WLTP-certified range of up to 805 Km.

It also gets a DC charging speed of up to 400 kW, which can provide 10-80% in just 21 minutes. Expect the iX4’s powertrain specs to be quite similar.
