Volvo has introduced a new Safety Coach app which provides you effective safety driving tips while lowering your car insurance premium at the same time. This optional app provides real-time driving insights and tips throughout the infotainment screen and the Volvo cars mobile app.

Volvo Safety Coach App Features

These tips are based on a particular driver’s individual behavior in daily city traffic, which involves braking, acceleration, and cornering. These dedicated tips are provided by Volvo’s decades of real-world safety knowledge and data. Each Volvo driver gets their own dynamic and personal Safety Coach score, which motivates them to drive better and safer.

This app will be first rolled out in countries like Sweden and Norway, and majority of the Volvo cars are eligible for this update from model year 2020, which can soon have the access to the in-car app. In addition, Volvo Cars customers in Sweden and Norway will be able to make use of a special usage-based offer from the insurance firm Volvia, if they are able to provide their driving data.

After Sweden and Norway, this dedicated Safety Coach app is soon set to be introduced in the United States and other European markets. The Insurance-related offers will be also available as a part of this roll-out.

This app is designed with privacy and transparency at its core, which will be enabling drivers to have access over their own data. The drivers will also have the option to use Safety Coach and choose to select again in order to have their data shared with affiliated insurance companies in return for usage-based insurance premiums.
