Maruti has introduced the e Vitara priced at Rs 10.99 lakh, with an extra cost for battery rental.
Maruti has launched the e Vitara at a special price of Rs 10.99 lakh (Ex-Showroom), with additional costs for battery as customers have to pay an extra cost of Rs 3.99 Per Km driven, as the company charges extra cost of battery on rental basis.
However, the company is yet to reveal the full price of e Vitara, apart from the BaaS rental scheme. Maruti has started accepting the pre-bookings for the base 49 kWh battery pack, Delta variant at a price of Rs 21,000, as the company has started the deliveries.
Maruti has joined the Indian EV industry quite late as most rivals have established their own portfolio of electric vehicles. Despite this, they have not revealed the exact full price as it was showcased almost an year ago. Currently, the e Vitara will be only sold through BaaS option, where the buyer only pays for the car, excluding the battery, which is charged on rental basis.

POWER: The e Vitara is available with an option of two battery pack choices: a smaller 49 kWh battery pack with a front mounted motor producing a maximum power output of 144 Hp and certified ARAI range of 440 Km on a single charge. While the substantial 61 kWh battery pack generates 174 Hp and 543 km of range on a single charge.
According to Maruti, the e Vitara can be charged from 10-80% with a 7.4 kW charger within 6.5 hours for the 49 kWh variant and 9 hours for the bigger 61 kWh variant. It also has a fast charging support and can be charged in just 45 minutes using a 70 kW fast DC charger.

The e Vitara comes equipped with a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display and a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It also features an infinity audio system, a wireless charging pad, fixed glass sunroof, ambient lighting, drive modes, ventilated seats and 10-way powered driver’s seat.

Safety features include 7 airbags, front and rear parking sensors, a 360-Degree Camera, a tyre-pressure monitoring system (TPMS), Level 2 ADAS and electronic parking brake. The e Vitara has also achieved a 5-star BNCAP rating.
The automaker is also providing a complimentary home charging and installation service, along with complimentary charging for a year via Maruti’s ‘e for me’ App. The e Vitara will be competing against the likes of Toyota Ebella, Hyundai Creta Electric, Vinfast VF6, MG ZS EV, Mahindra BE 6 and Tata Curvv EV.
