Vinfast is all set to enter India’s highly competitive electric two-wheeler market with its new electric scooters that it sells in Vietnam. The company has recently filed a design patent for a sporty-looking electric scooter which resembles heavily with the popular Viper electric scooter sold in global markets. Although, there are some differences between the two.

Vinfast Electric Scooter Details

Just like the Viper, the upcoming Vinfast electric scooter features angular styling and will be equipped with chunky tyres with large 14-inch rims. There are also some design elements which are similar to the Viper. These comprise tapered handlebars, mirrors, flush-mount pillion foot pegs, angular tail section, and five-spoke alloy wheel design.

There is also an inclusion of various mechanical parts like hub-mounted electric motor and front disc brakes. However, Vinfast has adopted some visual design tweaks in order to distinguish it from their scooters sold overseas.

  • The scooter will come with twin-pod headlight setup, instead of the Viper’s single-piece angular headlight.
  • Majority of body panels are now rounded than the Viper’s angular ones, thus giving it a family look, specifically for the Indian markets.
  • However, due to the majority of the similarities, it is often expected that the upcoming scooter could be the facelift or updated version of the Viper, although there is no official confirmation.

Expected Technical Specs

The company has not revealed the exact technical specs, as the current-gen Viper listed on the Vietnamese website gets a 4.8 kWh battery pack integrated with an electric motor generating 3 kW of max power.

The company also stated before that they are working on developing scooters for India and this could be one of them. However, the exact launch timeline for its first electric scooter is still unknown.
