Plugzmart, which is an EV charging technology company has signed a MoU amounting to Rs 100 crore with Government of Tamil Nadu in order to expand manufacturing capacity, deep-tech R&D and EV charging infrastructure, with plans to create employment in 500+ skilled jobs. 

This investment has evolved the Plugzmart from an EV-tech company to establishing a large manufacturing capacity at a commercial scale. Tamil Nadu’s EV ecosystem is expanding its reach beyond vehicle manufacturing, specifically in charging hardware, software, power electronics and deep-tech companies are rapidly becoming a part of the state's EV industrial base

About Plugzmart 

Plugzmart is an IIT Madras-established company which is involved in the development of indigenous charging hardware and software, which also includes a 240 kW DC fast charger. 

Thus more domestic R&D and charging manufacturing could further solidify India’s local EVSE supply chain as charging deployments diversify.
