Everything is not well with Tesla and it is clearly evident by going through their Q2 sales numbers, as Tesla have registered their worst ever quarterly downfalls in the global market. Tesla is taking this seriously and now focussing on their future entry-level models which is not a completely new car, instead a cost-effective version of the Model Y, which can be termed as Economical Model Y.

Cost-Effective Tesla Model Y Details

Initially, the cost-effective version of the Model Y was expected to be an all-new electric car, which was further classified as Model 2, as it was expected to be positioned as the entry level car in the lineup of American manufacturers best sellers.

The production for the cost-effective version of the Model Y is expected to commence around August or September 2025. However, Elon musk has not shared light on whether such cost effective Tesla models will be planned for further cars as well or it will be exclusively subjected to Model Y. Tesla is also yet to confirm these details of the markets where they will be introducing the cost-effective Model Y.

Tesla’s Future Strategy to boost Sales

As per changes in the ongoing electric car grants in the United States, which currently is around USD 7,500 per car, are soon going to end, all thanks to President Donald Trump’s turnover on emission standards. Going by these updates in current times, Tesla has revised their strategy and now are focussing on development of affordable Model Y to increase sales.

Thus Tesla could soon introduce the affordable Model Y in European Markets which could characterise Tesla as an economical brand which could also offer budget cars catering to the needs of the consumers. Tesla’s sales performance in Europe has been constantly on a downward trend for a long time and this is a concerning issue for the company.

Due to this, the brand is losing a majority of market share in European markets from the past six months, possibly due to overall decline in electric car sales and facing stiff competition from Chinese brands.
