The iQube is one of the most selling electric scooters in India and comes powered with an option of a 2.2 kWh, 3.4 kWh, 3.5 kWh, and 5.3 kWh battery pack. We recently had a talk with the owner of the iQube in order to know the TVS iQube Real-World Range in India  and how much exact real-world range he is able to extract with the electric two-wheeler.

According to the user, the iQube provides a real-world range of 75 km in the normal mode (the mode in which the scooter is driven the majority of time) specifically in city conditions. The owner shared his experience after driving the scooter for almost 2,000 kms as of date and put the TVS iQube range in actual use.

NORMAL MODE: During city commutes, when the scooter is switched to normal mode, the speed is restricted to around 45-48 km/hr, which is quite normal for city traffic. It has enough torque to pull the scooter on open roads or inclines with two on-board. When driven with a light foot, the normal mode easily gives a real-world range of 70-80 Km.

POWER MODE: The power mode provides quick acceleration and increased torque. As compared to ICE scooters, the torque is available at just a push of the accelerator. The user stated that using the power mode helps overtaking scooters easily. The silent ride makes the overall riding experience even more smooth and seamless.

TVS iQube Charging Experience | Petrol Vs Electricity

The owner told us that the average cost per unit (KW) of electricity is 7.5. The cost of full charge is estimated to be INR 20-25 bucks and the cost per km is about 25 paise.

iQube Cost

  • Cost Per Km = INR 0.25
  • No of Kms Done = 1,000
  • Charging Cost = INR 450
  • Servicing Cost = INR 700

Total Cost = INR 1,150

Activa / Jupiter Cost

  • Fuel Cost = 1000/35* 105 = Approx. INR 3000
  • Maintenance Cost for 1,000 km = Approx 1,000 (Estimated)

Total Cost = INR 4,000 (Estimated)

Thus going by the above costs, if your daily run is not more than 60 km, then you can surely consider an electric scooter as you need to replace the battery after 4-5 years and by that time you will save around Rs 50,000 - Rs 1,00,000.
