The automotive technology giant Valeo has partnered with ZEEHO, the tech-mobility brand of CFMOTO Group in order to introduce revolutionary innovation: the world’s first vision and radar-enabled Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) for electric motorcycles.

This technology will be entering into mass production in September 2026, this highly Advanced Rider Assistance System (ARAS) will be introducing high-tech active safety to the roads. This technology will enhance the safety of motorcycle commuters by seamlessly blending automotive-grade digital co-pilot capabilities with two-wheelers.

What is Vision-Radar Fused Active Safety?

Riding a motorcycle comes with various challenges which includes spatial constraints, intense lean angles, and the need for perfect balance. In order to address these challenges, Valeo and ZEEHO have actively developed a 360-Degree safety suite that monitors the road and analyses it.

By analysing data from a high-defination front camera and advanced radar system, this setup provides critical real-time warnings, which includes:

  • Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC): It automatically adjusts your speed in order to maintain a safe consistent distance from the vehicle ahead.
  • Forward and Rear Collision Warnings (FCW & RCW): It alerts riders to threats from both ends of the bike.
  • Blind Spot Detection (BSD) & Lane Change Assist (LCA): It makes highway overtaking and dense city lane changes safer by consistently warning.
  • Lead Vehicle Departure Notification (LVDN): It is a handy digital nudge especially when the traffic ahead starts moving at spotlight.

Valeo’s Turnkey Hardware & Software Architecture

This technology is developed in China as it integrates Valeo’s massive local engineering footprint of over 4,300 engineers and 10 R&D centers. This ARAS solution is developed specifically for the demanding, exposed environment of two-wheelers.

Here is how this system functions:

Automotive-Grade Sensing: The integrated radar and front camera provides pinpoint object detection, range measurement, and environmental mapping, irrespective of the weather and riding conditions.

The Brain (Valeo ARAS ECU): It is a high-performance central computing unit engineered exclusively for motorcycles. It is rugged, highly reliable, and tuned for low power consumption, ensuring it doesn’t reduce your EV’s battery.

Proprietary Software Suite: The algorithm is tuned in a way that Valeo’s software smartly filters out false positives by analysing risk trajectories in real-time. It also provides active alerts that enhance your safety without interrupting your rides.

A Game-Changer for Global Two-Wheeler Safety

The Chief Executive Officer of Valeo’s Brain Division, Marc Vrecko, has also expressed that integrating the hardware with a software stack creates an advanced system catered specifically for motorcycle dynamics.

This will not be subjected to a premium feature as it represents a major step towards making safety a top priority for all types of mobility. Thus by building a strategic alliance with ZEEHO, Valeo is rapidly expanding these advanced modular solutions in order to make streets safer for everyone on two wheels.
