Vinfast, a Vietnamese EV manufacturer is all set to enter India with their VF6 electric SUV. The vision of the company is to become a key leader in the cost-effective Indian EV market with their VF6 SUV, which was earlier displayed at the Bharat Mobility Auto Expo 2025. 

VinFast to Boost EV Adoption in India with VF6 and VF7 Models

As Vinfast is eyeing India as their biggest EV market, the company has started the construction of a Rs 4,000 crore manufacturing plant in Tamil Nadu. Vinfast has executed this strategy to price their cars competitively in the Indian market by locally manufacturing their cars, and reducing cost in the growing Indian EV market. This shows the company’s dedication to enter the Indian EV industry. 

Mr. Pham Sanh Chahu, CEO of Vinfast Asia is very confident about their latest offerings, the VF6 and its sibling VF7, which will accelerate the EV transition in India, he also added further, that the company is excited to bring their sustainable cars to Indian consumers. 

VF 6 Design

The VF 6 is the first EV car to be designed on Vinfast's all new dedicated EV platform. This compact SUV has taken design cues from the brand’s ‘The Duality in Nature’ design language, which exclusively focuses on bold aesthetics and everyday practicality. 

Vinfast has developed this car in a joint collaboration with Torino Design, an Italian firm. The VF6 is a blend of sleek aerodynamic shape with modern design. It is equipped with flowing contours located across the bonnet and sides. The sculpted design conveys strength in a subtle manner, avoiding any sense of aggression.

The VF6 features a unique LED light signature reflecting the brand’s identity. The VF6’s design is developed to provide aerodynamic efficiency by reducing drag. 

The company says that the interior of the car is developed with equal finesse as exteriors. According to Vinfast, the spacious interiors give a feeling of a big living room, where big families can enjoy their weekend trips and long getaways with the comfort of ample space.

Vinfast VF6 Expected Launch

Vinfast is expected to launch their sub-compact VF6 SUV sometime in the second half of 2025. After launch, the VF6 will be competing with Mahindra BE 6, Hyundai Creta Electric, and the MG ZS EV.
