Vinfast VF7 Ownership Review | Real Owner’s perspective & Pros and Cons 2025
Vinfast entered into the Indian automobile industry with its latest VF7 electric SUV and it looks modern and comes with a sporty approach. We recently reviewed with the proud owner of VinFast VF7 Wind Infinity, who has done more than 2,500 Km in just over a month.
If you are considering this Vietnamese SUV or wondering to skip your ICE SUV and looking for this then this is the ultimate ownership review for you as we will have covered all the technical aspects of the electric SUV.
Why did he choose Vinfast?
The owner isn’t big into new SUVs as earlier he owned Mahindra XUV700 and was looking for a potential EV, his first choice was Harrier EV but he opted for Vinfast due to two reasons, looks and peace of mind. According to him, the Harrier EV was undeniably a superior package but changed his plan due to various concerns and issues with Tata & Mahindra’s reliability.

When he looked for the VF7, he liked the modern design approach of the electric SUV and sheer value preposition coming with the car. The VF7 at a competitive price of Rs 25 lakhs was a value for money deal and felt more premium on the inside.
Understanding the Variants: Earth, Wind or Sky?
Here is a detailed variant breakdown of the Vinfast VF7 from the owner.
- Earth: This is the base model which had black interiors and was powered with a smaller 59.6 kWh battery pack, and misses out on advanced features like ADAS.
- Wind (Value-For-Money): This is what the owner prioritised as it is powered by a substantial 70.8 kWh battery pack, ADAS Level 2, Ventilated Seats, and all the goodies which is expected on a top-spec model.
- Wind Infinity: This is the same variant which we reviewed. It is identical to the Wind variant, but the only addition is a fixed panoramic glass roof which commands an extra amount of Rs 50,000.

- Sky: This is a top of the line performance variant integrated with AWD and dual motors.
As per the owner, the Wind Infinity offered a perfect combination of bigger battery and luxury without the extra cost of an AWD system which is not needed for daily urban commutes.
Vinfast VF7 Performance Review
The owner highlighted that the performance is the interesting part of the package as it is a heavy car with a rock-solid built quality that inspires confidence on high-speeds. However, the extra weight doesn’t affect the performance as in Sports Mode, the acceleration was brisk and responsive to throttle inputs.
The VF7 generates a maximum power output of 201 Bhp and peak torque of 310 Nm which makes overtaking seamless with just a slight push of the pedal. The overall handling of the car also feels sporty making highway rides stable and exciting.

Vinfast VF7 Real-World Range & Charging
We also asked the million dollar question to the user as Kitna Average Deti hai? The company claims a significant range of 532 Km on a single charge. However, the owner told us that the real-world range was surprisingly very near to the claimed figure, which is quite rare in the world of EVs.
The owner charges the VF7 with a 7.2 kW AC wall box charger which easily charges the battery overnight.
Vinfast VF7 Learning Curve
Every new car brings some sort of challenges and in-case of VF7, it was the charger. The owner shared a funny story where he couldn't get the charging gun out of the car. Then he learned that there is a specific locking mechanism given for enhanced safety.

The user manual explained that first you have to unlock the car and place it in a particular sequence to release the charging gun, which is a sort of “Hidden Feature” provided by the company. This feature ensures that no one unplugs your car in your absence.
PROS:
- Performance, offered in both, FWD & AWD
- Feature loaded, packed with goodies like Level 2 ADAS, and 7 Airbags.
- Rear-seat Comfort with a practical boot.
- Well Priced.
- Enhanced Cabin Space and Ambience.
CONS:
- There is a lack of traditional driver display in a 25 lakh car. In the era of 3-screens, a single screen is kind of a cost control.
- Limited Dealer & Service Network.
- Improper Steering Wheel.
- Lack of Physical Buttons.

Conclusion
According to the owner, he was pretty much satisfied with the purchase as it offers an incredible list of safety features and delivers an exceptional range (In Sports Mode) that eradicates the fear of range anxiety. If you are ready to bear the heavy charging cables and acceptance of a new brand, then Vinfast VF7 is one of the ideal choices under Rs 25 lakh currently.
