Ather Energy will partner with ChargeMOD to expand their EV charging infrastructure in Kerala, as this collaboration will be making charging more convenient and accessible for EV users, contributing to the growth of electric mobility in Kerala.

This strategic alliance will give access to over 121 additional charging locations across the state, thus giving additional chargers to the state so that users can conveniently charge their EV cars and meet the rising demand of EVs.

Ather Energy runs the Ather Grid, which is one of the country’s largest EV networks focussing towards two wheelers. As of 31 December, 2024, the company has installed 291 Ather Grid fast chargers in Kerala.

Apart from enhancing its charging architecture, Ather has also solidified its leading position in Kerala’s EV market over the last two quarters, registering more than 10,000 sales, according to data from Vahaan.

According to Ather Energy’s Chief Business Officer, Ravneet Singh Phokela, the company is putting its focus on expanding its charging network and finding partnerships with Charge Point Operators (CPOs) in order to improve the accessibility to EV owners.

ChargeMOD’s founder, Visakh Raj, expresses that, “The partnership will lead to a development of charging stations that is according to India’s EV goals set for 2030.

ChargeMOD, who is a main Charge Point Operator with networks expanding across countries like India, Nepal, and Abu Dhabi and operates more than 3,500 EV charging stations. Thus this partnership with Ather energy will be developing the growing networks of charging stations, which will help in growth of electric mobility in Kerala.

Ather’s charging infrastructure even supports interoperability through LECSS standard, as according to an Indian standard in August 2023, further promoting the accessibility for EV users in India.

Ather Energy previously also had alliances with Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited, Sangeetha Mobiles Private Limited, and Cafe Coffee Day to integrate fast chargers in different locations. The company installed 799 fast chargers in the financial year 2025 (April-December), with the existing network of 2,583 chargers.
