India's trend in electric vehicle sales for two-wheelers and four-wheelers | May 2025

EV vehicles recorded a significant growth in May 2025 as compared to last month. If we talk about numbers of EVs sold in particular departments, Electric two-wheeler sales have a significant growth from 92,391 to 1,00,266 units in May 2025.
If we talk about electric four-wheeler sales, it showed a significant decline from 13,119 units in April to 12,212 units sold in May 2025.

In May 2025, TVS Motors led the electric two-wheeler market with 24.5% market share, followed by Bajaj Auto at the second place with 21.7% market share and Ola electric leading the third spot with a market share of 18.4%.
EV Penetration: The penetration percentage of EV vehicles in the two-wheeler segment has shown a spike as it has increased from 5.5% in April 2025 to 6.1% in May 2025.

If we talk about four-wheeler sales in May 2025, Tata Motors is having a lion share in the electric four wheeler segment and is a clear leader with more than 35% of market share. The second spot is achieved by JSW MG Motors with a respective share of 30.6% and third place bagged by Mahindra & Mahindra with a share of 21.3%.
