BMW Group India achieves impressive sales in H1 2026, with electric vehicle sales rising by 78%.
BMW Group India has recorded impressive first-half sales performance by registering a total of 9,075 cars between the month of January and June 2026. The luxury manufacturer achieved 17% Year-on-Year (YoY) growth during the period, with second-quarter sales rising to 17% (4,507 Units).

One of the major reasons why BMW Group has achieved this unprecedented growth is because of the company’s EV portfolio. BMW Group India sold 2,359 EVs in the first six months of 2026, achieving a 78% Year-on-Year growth.
AdvertisementAccording to the company, EVs account for 26% of overall car sales, which means that one in every BMW sold in India was electric. BMW has also stated that they are at the top of the country's luxury EV brand with a significant market share of 69% in the segment. The company is also planning to expand its lineup by adding 14 more products by the end of 2026.

The demand for the company's long-wheelbase models is showing consistent growth, with sales of 24% Year-on-Year (YoY) to a total of 4,428 units.
These models account for 52% of the company's total sales during the H1 2026. On the other hand, BMW and MINI also recorded a 35% increase amounting to 5,926 units sold which accounts for 65% of overall volumes.
