BYD all set to Launch Sealion SUV on February 17

BYD India is all set to launch Sealion 7 on Feb 17, 2025. It was also displayed at the Bharat Mobility Auto Expo. This SUV will be the brand’s most luxury offering in India, thus Sealion 7 will be creating a segment of luxury electric SUVs.

The Sealion 7 will be coming in two variants: Premium and Performance. The bookings for the Sealion SUV have started and the car can be booked with an introductory price of Rs 70,000.

BYD is also providing an offer where the company will be providing equal contribution of the booking amount towards the price of the car. BYD is also giving an attractive warranty of 7-year/ 1,50,000 Km and a complimentary 7kW home charger with free installation.

BYD will be dispatching their first lot of 70 units of the Sealion SUV from March 7. Let’s discuss the detailed specifications and design of the Sealion 7.

Sealion 7 Design

BYD has used the e-platform 3.0 platform to design the Sealion 7 SUV. To enhance the styling, BYD has taken inspiration from their Ocean X styling and X design outfits. The car also looks quite similar to the BYD Seal sedan from the front, adding the same bunch of BYD’s signature design headlights.

1. The front is aggressive with new rear bumper design.
2. BYD is offering a bigger set of 19-inch and 20-inch alloy wheels to make the SUV look bold yet robust from the outside.

Dimensions wise the car looks big yet bold as it is 4,830mm long with a wheelbase of 2,930mm. The boot of the car gets 520 litres of boot space, with frunk adding 58 litres more at the front. BYD Sealion 7 SUV will be available in four colours: Cosmos Black, Atlantis Grey, Aurora White, and Shark Grey.

BYD has manufactured Sealion 7 to sell it globally and it is already on sale in China and Europe. BYD is offering a single battery pack option for the car, (same for Premium and Performance). It even gets the option of front-wheel and all-wheel drive systems available with specific variants.

POWER: The Premium variant of BYD Sealion SUV produces 313 HP of Power with the maximum range of 567 Km, whereas the performance variant gives a staggering 530 HP of strong power with a comparatively lesser range of 542 Km.
