MG Hector Tomahawk EV Real-World Range Test Explained 

The MG Hector Tomahawk EV is a premium electric SUV from MG and comes powered with a 69.5 kWh battery pack. Our AllAbout EVs team recently did a real-world range test of the electric SUV in order to know the real-world range figures achieved by MG Hector Tomahawk EV. 

During the Range test, the MG Hector Tomahawk EV provided a real-world range between 450-480 Km in mixed driving conditions. The range test was conducted during a media drive organised in Kochi, Kerala. The electric SUV was tested under authentic road conditions as it went through bumper-to-bumper city traffic and rigorous uphill and downhill mountain roads.

At the beginning of the range test, the battery was 99% SOC, displaying an estimated range of 485 Km. During the 90% SOC, the car had successfully covered 37.5 Km. However, the EV soon provided high efficiency, as it clocked an impressive 169 Km, with the battery showing 55% SOC. 

Thus at the end of the range test, the Tomahawk EV provided an exceptional real-world range of approximately 480 Km on a single charge.

Apart from the exceptional range figures, the Tomahawk EV impressed us the most with its super-silent cabin experience as it effortlessly glides through rough potholes and bumps. However, the rear-seat occupants might feel the suspension slightly on a stiffer side as it feels less comfortable than the premium-AI suspension found in rivals like the XEV 9e. 

On the other hand, MG has smartly introduced advanced technological features as the cruise control is seamlessly integrated right into the paddle shifters. It also gets a unique “Smoking Mode” that automatically opens the roof for immediate cabin ventilation.
