Chery's Exeed EX6 Facelift Secures Patent Status Across India

Chery’s subsidiary, Exeed will be the significant brand leading for New Energy Vehicles (NEVs). This list has been updated with the patent registration of the Exeed EX6, which is expected to be the first crossover by Omoda for the Indian markets. 

• It is expected to be the second patent from Exeed. 
• It can do a 0-100 km/hr sprint in just 5 seconds. 

Cherry EX6/Omoda 9 Patent Details 

As per various reports, the Exeed EX6 is not a new product but a facelifted version of the China-spec Yaoguang crossover, and it will be launched in the international markets as Omoda 9 or the Exeed RX. However, if we look at the side profile, the EX6 has a completely changed face. 

It now includes new housings for light modules, changed grille, and aero alloy wheels as showcased by the patent. The rear gets a connected tail-light setup, which has a striking resemblance to the Omoda counterpart. 

Chery EX6 Expected Powertrains 

The EX6 is expected to come with a plug-in hybrid (PHEV). As of now, the existing Omoda 9 SHS-P (SHS-P stands for plug-in hybrid), the PHEV generates 443 Bhp of maximum power output and 756 Nm of peak torque. 

The EX6 churns out a claimed EV-only range of 145 Km, as safety features include an ADAS module, as well as LiDAR technology. 

Exeed EX6 PHEV in India

The company has registered for the design patent for the EX6, but this doesn’t mean a confirmed launch, as the company has not confirmed to launch the EX6 in the Indian market. We have to wait for the official confirmation, as to whether the company plans to launch it in India or not.
