A great news for EV enthusiasts as Tata is gearing up to update its most affordable EV Tiago and will be showcasing it in the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, which will be held in New Delhi. Tiago is a first choice for affordable EV buyers and tata has given a thought on this and decided to update it to make it an even more attractive option.

Exterior Tweaks

Tiago will be coming with mild tweaks on the exterior to make it look refreshing and appealing. The front grills are updated now and headlamps have gone LED. Tiago will also be getting a ‘Humanity’ line on the front and the ally wheels will feature a new design.

Now you are able to opt for three new colors with the tiago- Chill Lime, Arizona Blue and Supernova Copper. Other older colors have been retained- Pristine White, Signature Teal and Daytona Grey. Some more exterior bits like a shark fin antenna and a redesigned ‘eV’ badging on the doors will be there.

New Features

Tata’s digital steering wheel will also debut in the new Tiago just like Nexon and Safari. Welcome addition is the new 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system that gets a floating design. It also gets a new high-definition HD camera with guide-lines. Android Auto and Apple carplay is also available with ESP as a standard across all variants.

Another big update is that AC fast charging has been discontinued and now Tiago can also be charged via a fast charger, which is available as an accessory. Good addition, but generally tiago owners charge their cars at home, or at workplaces.

Powertrains & Battery

The batteries and power figures are unchanged as Tiago is merely a facelift so nothing new in this department. The Medium Range variant will get a 19.2 kWh battery pack while the Long Range variant will get a 24 kWh. The electric motor of Medium Range will produce 60 BHP @ 110 NM of torque, while the long range variant will produce a stronger 74 BHP @ 114 NM of torque. Top speed is restricted to 120 kmph.

Pricing

The pricing of the Tiago will continue to bring a smile to the budget EV buyers as it will still remain the most affordable electric cars one can buy in India, with prices starting from 7.99 lakh rupees for the Medium Range XE trim, going all the way up to Rs. 11.14 lakh for the Long Range XZ Tech Lux trim.

Tiago has set a benchmark for EV success in India and with this update it has become an even more attractive option for budget EV buyers and it will also be targeting petrol hatchbacks with a greener footprint. Tiago was launched in 2015 initially with petrol and diesel variants but now in its refreshed EV avatar, it has become even more desirable.
