MG EV sales reach a significant milestone of 1 lakh.
JSW MG Motors have surpassed the 1,00,000 milestone as they have achieved sales of over 1 lakh electric car sales in India since the company started selling electric cars in 2020, followed by the launch of MG ZS EV.
MG has become the second company to achieve this sales record after Tata Motors, which celebrated the occasion of over 1 lakh EVs sold on Indian roads in August 2023 and achieved 2 lakh milestone in February 2025.
MG EV Sales in India
MG Motors entered into the field of Indian EV industry in January 2020 with the launch of ZS EV, followed by a compact hatchback MG Comet in April 2023. The company got its breakthrough in September 2024 when they launched their highly anticipated Windsor EV which started MG EVs trend in India, creating a massive demand in the EV market.

Followed by the successful launch of Windsor, the company launched the long-range version of the Windsor Pro, in order to compete with the popular Nexon EV.
The company has set the vision of 70-80% of sales to be dominated by EVs, and they have recently confirmed that their electric cars are contributing over 70% of monthly volumes which means they have already achieved their vision. According to MG, the share of India’s EV market has witnessed a significant rise to 35% from 26% at the end of 2024.
In the month of April-September, MG delivered around 26,640 electric cars which is a massive 220% jump over the last year’s corresponding period. This year, the company ventured into the premium EV segment with the introduction of its new MG Select lineup of electric cars, starting with Cyberster roadster and the luxury M9 MPV.

However we know these models will not help in giving a majority of numbers to the MG’s overall sales, but they will be reflecting the brand's luxury all-electric capabilities.
