The Ferrari Luce 'Chassis 0' has set a new auction record, fetching an impressive USD 40 million.
Ferrari’s first electric production Luce, which is also called ‘Chassis 0’, has been sold for a whopping amount for USD 40 million (Around Rs 382 Crore) at the RM Sotheby’s Monetary auction. This legendary sale has set a new milestone for the highest price paid for a new vehicle at auction, which surpassed the USD 26 million raised by one-off Daytona SP3 at the same event last year.
The entire amount will be utilised by Ferrari Foundation after RM Sotheby’s waived for the buyer’s premium. The buyer will be taking the scheduled delivery in the first quarter of 2027 after the car returns to Maranello for final assembly.
The Luce is Ferrai’s first production electric car coming with five seat configuration and uses a quad-motor all-wheel drive powertrain generating a maximum power output of 1,050 Hp and peak torque of 990 Nm, with a claimed top speed of 310 km/hr and a claimed driving range of 530 Km.

Ferrari Luce ‘Chassis 0’: What makes it a Legendary Machine?
Often termed as ‘Chassis 0’, it is crafted through Ferrari’s Tailor Made programme and comes with bespoke elements that are not offered on regular production models.
If we talk about the overall design, the car is finished with Madreperla Semi-Gloss paint exclusively developed for Luce. According to Ferrari, they have also used special pigment that changes appearances based on the angle and the intensity of light. Other unique touches include five-spoke alloy wheels, bespoke brake callipers, and special Ferrari branding.
On the inside, the cabin is complimented by Le Mans metallic leather in Perla, with Girgio Corvara trim instead of the traditional black interior elements. The upholstery has been designed specifically to reflect and diffuse light, matching the car’s overall theme.
