Tata Harrier EV is applauded with a rating of five stars from Bharat National Crash Assessment Program BNCAP. The rating from all-electric flagship SUV is not new for Tata Motors as it has countless vehicles which have scored full 5 stars in not only BNCAP but internationally as well too. 

Tata Motors launched their top-spec flagship SUV on 3 June in India with advanced segment first features and marked an important milestone for India’s emerging electric automotive industry in 2025. Harrier EV is based on Acti.EV+ platform and is available with an option of two battery packs that can be seen on upcoming EVs as well. 

Tata Harrier EV Crash Test Results

The Harrier EV scored full 5 stars in Adult Occupant Protection and Child Occupant Protection. This crash test is applicable for all variants of Harrier EV. It scored a full 32 out of 32 for Adult Occupant Protection and a decent 45 out of 49 for Child Occupant Protection. 

Harrier EV also scored a perfect 16 out of 16 in the frontal offset deformable barrier test and side movable deformable barrier test. If we talk about Child Occupant Protection, the Harrier EV scored a full 24 out of 24 in the dynamic score and class leading 12 out of 12 in CRS installation. 

However, the vehicle assessment score projected a different picture as the Harrier EV scored 9 out of 13. But what makes this SUV safe is the list of advanced safety features on offer with this SUV. Let’s discuss the safety features of Harrier EV which makes it a safer car. 

Tata Harrier EV: Safety Tech

Tata has loaded the Harrier EV with plenty of features to meet the modern safety requirements as they have constructed the SUV on a 5-star BNCAP-ready body structure, which is able to withstand heavy impacts without damaging the core of the body and keeping the passengers safe during the impact. 

Apart from this, Harrier EV is equipped with next generation safety features such as 6 standard airbags, with 7 on the top spec variant, ABS with EBD, ESP with i-VBAC, Cornering Stability Control, Hill Hold and descent control, ISOFIX seat mounts, and speed sensing Auto Door locks. 

  • Other safety features comprise of ADAS Level 2 suite, all-disc brakes enhancing the brake dynamics of the SUV, brake disc wiping, collapsible steering wheel, Electronic Parking Brake with Auto Hold, headlamp levelling, alarm system, rear defogger, and a 540-Degree Camera for better visibility and control. 

  • It also includes TPMS, seatbelt reminders, and integrated front/rear dashcam. Harrier EV also gets blind spot warning displayed on the ORVMs, rain sensing wipers, all LED-lighting systems. 
  • There is also an inclusion of SOS call button, and an Acoustic Vehicle Alert System (AVAS) which protects the electric SUV making it the safest offering from Tata Motors.
