Altmin and SCCL are set to establish a Lithium refinery project worth 2,250 Crore in Telangana.
Altmin and The Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL), which is a Hyderabad based LFP cathode active material manufacturer has entered into an Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to jointly construct a lithium refinery in Telangana.
The particular project requires an investment of 2,250 crores and will be having an annual production capacity of 30,000 metric tonnes of battery-grade lithium carbonate. The MoU was signed at the Telangana Rising Global Summit under the presence of the Chief Minister of Telangana, Revanth Reddy.
SSCL, which is jointly owned by the Government of Telangana and Government of India, is engaged in the activities of coal mining and extraction technologies. Currently, the company is expanding its operations into non-coal energy projects as a part of its diversification strategy which is aligned according to the standards of carbon reduction targets and the National Critical Mineral Mission.

Altmin Pvt Ltd is focussing towards the seamless operations of lithium supply chain operations and LFP cathode active material manufacturing. This agreement states that Altmin will be partnering with SCCL and a Brazilian integrated lithium mining and refining entity in order to establish the refinery, which is all set to be in full operation by 2027.
