RIICO has allocated land for PMI Electro Mobility's electric bus manufacturing facility worth 1,200 crore in Rajasthan.

PMI Electro Mobility Solutions Pvt. Ltd. is all set to commence an electric bus manufacturing facility in Rajasthan, with a starting investment of about Rs 1,200 crore. 

The Rajasthan State Industrial Development and Investment Corporation (RIICO) has recently issued an offer letter on October 14, 2025 which stated an allotment of about 2,65,329 square meters (65.56 acres) of land situated at the Ghiloth Industrial Area, which amounts to a value of approximately 208 crore. 

PMI has expressed interest in setting up a unit in Rajasthan and has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the state government during the occasion of Rising Rajasthan Summit. Apart from this, RIICO has allocated the land by an e-auction process, through which the company has proposed a 65-acre plot for setting up of this manufacturing facility. 

As per the company, this project is expected to generate direct job opportunities for over 500 people. The company will be producing electric commercial vehicles and is currently having a fleet of more than 2,000 electric buses spread across 31 major Indian cities. They have also signed a contract amounting to Rs 400 crore with BEST Mumbai. 

PMI Vision for Future

PMI has aimed to utilise 40% of its capacity for the first year, thus increasing constantly to 100% by the end of sixth year. The company has projected a turnover of an estimated Rs 6,180 crore in the first year itself, followed by Rs 15,450 crore by the sixth year. 

The Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Bhajan Lal Sharma states that this project which stands at a whopping Rs 7 lakh crore have been implemented from the Rs 35 lakh crore MoU signed under the Rising Rajasthan Initiative. He also stated further that the manufacturing facility in Rajasthan will be the first PMI unit in the state and is likely to motivate further investments in the electric vehicle industry. 

The commencement of the factory will also encourage industrial activity and will help in achieving significant emission reduction in Rajasthan.
