Maruti's latest YMC electric MPV has been spotted, derived from the e Vitara
Maruti Suzuki is all set to expand its EV lineup, as according to the latest spy shots, the company is working on an all-new electric MPV codenamed as YMC. The heavily camouflaged version was recently spotted testing, thus raising speculations around Maruti’s three-row electric MPV.
According to reports, the upcoming Maruti YMC is expected to be launched in the Indian markets around the end of 2026 or early 2027. This model is specifically developed to cater to large families and will be positioning itself as a practical family mover, a segment which has been quietly ignored in India.

The new EV is expected to be underpinned by Suzuki’s Heartect-e skateboard platform, thus sharing the platform with Maruti e Vitara. This platform is specifically developed for electric vehicles and can accommodate a flat-floor design, which could result in an increased cabin space and enhanced third-row comfort.

The YMC electric MPV is expected to come with various tech-loaded features such as large touchscreen, Level 2-ADAS, digital instrument cluster, panoramic sunroof, connected car technology, and ventilated seats.
Battery Pack: The YMC electric MPV is expected to be powered with the same 49 kWh and 61.1 kWh battery pack options similar to the e Vitara, with the larger battery expected to return 500 Km of range on a single charge.
Maruti is planning to manufacture the upcoming electric MPV at its Gujarat facility, with exports playing an important role in overall supply volumes. Thus it will be interesting to see the response of Indian consumers towards the YMC electric MPV, once it gets introduced to the Indian market.
