Maruti Suzuki is all set to launch their next product in its EV lineup. While their first electric car, the e Vitara, is gaining popularity in the electric automotive world, the company is secretly working on the development of their next electric car, which could be an electric MPV.

Codenamed as the Maruti YMC, this is not just a regular electric car, but India’s premium family-oriented electric MPV that will be positioned in the “People Mover” segment.

Maruti YMC electric MPV Details

The YMC will be Maruti’s second electric car and will be specifically developed to cater the needs of a big family and will be a dedicated 3-row MPV. Unlike traditional ICE cars, the YMC will be underpinned on a completely new 27PL skateboard platform (Heartect-e), which is jointly co-developed by Toyota

This will be a completely born electric platform and will allow a full flat floor and a cab-friendly design, designed specifically for providing more interior space and “couch-like” comfort, even more than the Ertiga or the XL6.
