Tata has finally revealed its anticipated new Sierra in the Indian market after showcasing a variety of concepts and teasers at the motor shows. This marks the return of the legendary Sierra nameplate after 23 years since the previous model was discontinued in 2002. However, Tata has only showcased the ICE versions, as the Sierra EV is slated to launch in the first half of 2026.

Sierra EV vs Sierra ICE: Visual Differences

The Sierra EV will be having a variety of EV-design cues in order to differentiate it from its petrol and diesel counterparts. Let’s understand these with a form of a table.

New Sierra Design

This is one of the most striking designs of Tata as they have provided a boxy shape with new styling cues, which gives it a unique yet a modern stance. The front will be complimented by a gloss-black panel which will be smoothly integrated with the connected LED DRls, projector LED headlights and a striking ‘Tata’ logo.

The bumper adds to the rugged look of the SUV with gloss-black accents accents and faux silver skid plate. There is also an addition of two pixel-like fog lamps on either side which gives it a clean and conventional look.

The Sierra also gets new flush type door handles which gives it a futuristic look when viewed from the side. However it doesn’t retain the curved glass windows of the previous generation Sierra, but the black-painted section between the B pillars and C pillars is heavily inspired by the original design and resembles the signature styling of the original SUV which created a revolution in that era.

New Tata Sierra Interiors and Features

The interior of the new Sierra comes with a triple-screen dashboard which includes one for the driver’s display and the other two for infotainment, which also have the functionality to synchronise the same content on both the screens. The steering wheel is carried over from the other Tata SUVs such as the Curvv, with an illuminated Tata logo and touch controls.

Tata has also given a new button layout to the Sierra with the addition of a new Terrain button, on the right side of the dashboard, which helps the user to switch between various modes, which is a unique addition to the Sierra and is not carried over from the other Tata SUVs.
