Mercedes have shown a glimpse of their much awaited electric C Class Sedan at the Munich Motor Show. The company teased the car by releasing its first-ever teaser of the electric C Class. The official introduction of the new electric sedan could occur sometime in 2026 and it will be competing against its chief rival, the BMW i3 which is also slated to release next year.

2026 Mercedes C Class EV Highlights

The teaser was presented by the company solely at the introduction of their latest GLC EV. However in the teaser, the exterior design of the all-electric Mercedes C Class was highly camouflaged, leaving apart some new illumination inserts at the front.

The teaser gave a glimpse of the central grille which is exactly the same featured in the electric GLC and is incorporated with multitude of illuminated dots which are attached very closely to each other. The iconic Mercedes three-pointed star logo which is placed at the center of the grille is also illuminated and it brightens up when the headlights are lighted in the DRL form.

Apart from this, the C Class EV’s completely sealed grille comes with four horizontal slats which has a striking resemblance to the flagship S Class, thus the C Class EV will be the only car to feature these slats in the entire manufacturer’s sedan lineup. There is also an additional air vents placed at the bottom with parking sensors attached to the sides.

The teaser also revealed some bits of the car’s rear end, displaying the triangular rear quarter glass section, which has been designed with a more rounded lower corner and has become softer as compared to the much sharper and modern design of the current generation C Class.

2026 Mercedes C Class EV Battery & Platform

All the next generation upcoming models of the company will be underpinned by Mercedes-Benz electric architecture (MB.EA), as this platform will be forming the core segments of the C Class electric, GLC, and E Class.

The CEO of Mercedes, Ola Kallenius expressed his views on this occasion and said, “Talking about the upcoming Mercedes C Class, we are focussing on providing a range of 800 Km on a single charge.

It has been confirmed that the upcoming C Class EV will be built on the same MB.EA architecture as the GLC EV, which guarantees that the C Class EV will have access to the same powertrain.

POWER: It is projected that the C Class will utilize a single motor capable of delivering 374 HP of peak power and there will also be an option of a dual-motor (AWD) generating an impressive power output of 489 HP. The soon-to-be-released sedan could potentially employ the GLC’s 94 kWh 800V battery pack, supporting DC fast charging capabilities of up to 330 kW.

For reference, the GLC EV’s NMC battery pack has the ability to charge the battery from 10-80% in just 24 minutes, thus ensuring 303 Km (WLTP) of range in just 10 minutes of charge, which is quite a benchmark as compared to the industry standards.
