The all-electric GLC SUV from Mercedes Benz has been unveiled at the Munich Motor Show taking place in Germany. The newly introduced GLC SUV could go against the likes of BMW iX3.
2025 Mercedes GLC EV Battery & Technical Specs
The GLC EV, constructed on the innovative 800V-powered MB.EA platform, demonstrates Mercedes' newest technological advancements. In international markets like the US, it will be available with two variants which includes RWD GLC 300+ and the AWD GLC 400 4Matic.
POWER: The GLC 300 will be featuring a single motor generating a maximum power output of 374 HP, and on the other hand, the AWD GLC 400 will be powered by dual motors generating a peak power of 489 HP, followed by a top speed of 210 kph.
However both the variants utilize power from the 94 kWh NMC battery pack which also supports 330kW DC fast charging, which is possible due to an integrated DC converter. It is suitable for use with chargers that function at both 800V and 400V.
In just 24 minutes, the GLC EV can be charged from 10% to 80%, adding a range of 303 Km with only 10 minutes of charging. It is expected that the GLC 400 AWD EV can provide a WLTP significant range of 713 Km on a single charge.
2025 Mercedes GLC EV Design
The visual appeal of the GLC EV SUV is largely defined by the signature massive grille of Mercedes, featuring 942 backlit dots that brilliantly spotlight the illuminated three-pointed star positioned in the middle. The headlights are designed with star-shaped running lights, followed by tiny star-shaped LEDs integrated with the taillight.
There is also an inclusion of a subtle roof spoiler which helps in improving the overall aerodynamic efficiency of the electric SUV and also balances the sloping roofline. According to Mercedes, the electric GLC has a drag coefficient of 0.26. Mercedes has also included a standard 20-inch wheel size and users also have an option of 21-inch alloy wheels. However the tail-lights have a striking resemblance to the electric CLA.
2025 Mercedes GLA EV Features & Interior
The interiors are quite futuristic and include modern design elements with advanced technological features which comprises a large 39.1-inch MBUX Hyperscreen, which is one of the biggest displays Mercedes have ever featured in a car. The screen runs across the whole dashboard, thus blending the driver’s display, touchscreen, and passenger screen in a single screen unit.
The infotainment system is upgraded with a newer version of MBUX and displays cleaner menus with an addition of a built-in AI assistant. However with this new SUV, the old physical buttons and knobs are back which are placed on the steering wheel and center console.
Mercedes has analysed the user’s requirements and integrated physical buttons, thus removing the touch-sensitive controls which just hampers the concentration of drivers, every time they have to change the settings of the car.
