Ather Investment on EL Platform & Konarc

During the launch event of Ather Konarc, which is the first product to be engineered on its latest EL architecture, the EV manufacturer has said that they have invested more than Rs 500 crore in the development of their latest electric scooter platform as well as the new electric scooter.

The Ather EL platform also comes with highly advanced features like onboard charging, AeBS, and 10,000 km service interval to the Konarc.

The CEO and Co-Founder of Ather Energy, Tarun Mehta also expressed his views on this and said, “This would be the largest investment of the company on a new product till date. I would say it is around Rs 400-500 crore investment between the platform and product.”

According to Ather, their latest EL platform has been engineered with lower costs, simpler servicing, easier charging and everyday practicality, rather than being only performance-focussed.

He also added that, “We had originally started thinking about this platform way back in 2019, but we decided to invest more time and effort and started on the development process in 2024, so it took around 2 years.”
