BMW has started accepting bookings for the i5 LWB in India.
BMW has started accepting bookings for the electric i5 LWB first edition for India, and is scheduled to launch in the coming weeks. However, BMW will be selling just 99 units of the long wheelbase electric sedan in India and they will be locally manufactured at BMW’s Chennai facility.
BMW i5 LWB Technical Details
According to BMW, the i5 LWB will be powered with a 81.6 kWh battery pack, providing a certified range of 669 Km (As per Indian Driving Cycle or MIDC).
The i5 LWB generates 268 Hp as the sedan can accelerate from 0-100 km/hr in just 6.7 seconds. There will also be an inclusion of a rear-axle suspension. The early testing and the standard i5 will get a soft suspension and low ride height makes it prone to scratch on tight speed breakers and big potholes.

However, BMW has claimed that they have increased the ground clearance for the LWB sedan, but it remains to be seen how it performs in real-world driving conditions. Although the company has not revealed the exact feature list, we can expect a similar set of features as the standard i5.
