2026 Mercedes-Benz S-Class Facelift Plug-in Hybrid Price Revealed | Launched at Rs 2.20 Crore
Mercedes-Benz has launched the 2026 S-Class in India at an introductory price of Rs 2.20 crore (Ex-Showroom). The German brand’s flagship sedan has also been introduced with Plug-in hybrid (PHEV) for the first time. The S-Class only comes with a S 450e variant in India. The company has started accepting the bookings as the deliveries are scheduled to commence around Diwali 2026. As compared to the previous generation, the introductory prices of the new S-Class has hiked by Rs 35 lakh. It will rival against the BMW 7-Series.

2026 Mercedes-Benz S-Class PHEV Technical Details
Mercedes-Benz has introduced the S 450e plug-in hybrid technology to the flagship sedan, the S-Class lineup. It comes powered with a 3.0-litre turbocharged inline-six petrol engine, which is integrated with a rear attached electric motor equipped with a 22 kWh lithium-ion battery pack.
POWER: The 2026 S-Class PHEV generates a combined power output of 435 Hp and peak torque of 680 Nm, with all the power channelised to the rear wheels via 9-speed automatic transmission. According to the German brand, the S-Class can provide an electric-only range of up to 115 Km.
Mercedes also claims that the 22 kWh battery can be charged from 10-80% in 20 mins via 60 kW fast charger, providing a 32.2 kmpl (WLTP cycle).

2026 Mercedes S-Class Design & Features
Visually, the original silhouette of the S-Class remains the same, apart from some design updates such as the front grille is larger than before and now houses chrome-garnished three-pointed star elements, with an illuminated grille surround. It also comes with a ‘Digital Light’ LED headlamp that highlights the Mercedes-Benz’s signature three-pointed star graphics.
The rear of the new S-Class features new LED tail-lamps that presents dynamic light animations and illuminated three-pointed star motifs, which reflects the design of the front lighting elements. The bumper is also redesigned that adds to the visual appeal of the new S-Class.
The flagship sedan also gets new alloy wheel designs and additional standard paint choices, though customers can select from a catalogue of Manufaktur colours, according to their preferences.

FEATURES
- The new S-Class features MBUX ‘SuperScreen’ setup, which includes 14.4-inch OLED touchscreen, a 12.3-inch unit for front passengers. This screen runs Mercedes's latest MB.OS operating system.
- It also comes with augmented reality head-up display (AR-HUD), which means that the navigation instructions and guidance are displayed in the driver’s line of sight.
- There is also an inclusion of a 13.1-inch rear-entertainment screen that supports video streaming, gaming, and video conferencing.

- Other features include high-end Burmester 4D audio system, wireless Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto, connected car technology, rear-wheel steering system, and four-zone climate control system.
- Safety features include adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking system, blind-spot monitoring, lane-keep assist, surround-view cameras and multiple airbags. It also features ‘E-Active Body Control’ which can automatically adjust the suspension according to the road conditions.
