The much-awaited Mercedes Benz CLA is all set to be introduced in the Indian market on 24 April, 2026. This upcoming electric sedan has garnered a majority of interest from Indian consumers. The CLA was earlier available with the ICE powertrain options before it was discontinued in 2020.

The CLA nameplate is all set to replace the A-Class sedan, as well as the EQA and EQB e-SUVs available in India.

Mercedes CLA EV Technical Details

As confirmed by Mercedes-Benz, the Indian counterpart of CLA EV will be available in two variants to choose from: 200 Standard Range and top of the line 250+ Long Range. The CLA EV will also boast a WLTP-certified range of 542 km on a single charge.

However, Mercedes has not revealed the exact technical details of the CLA EV, but the international-spec CLA 250+ is available with 85 kWh battery pack integrated with a rear-axle electric motor (RWD) generating a maximum power output of 268 HP and 335 Nm of peak torque.

There is also an option of a more powerful CLA 350 coming with a dual-motor all-wheel drive setup delivering a combined power of 349 Hp and 515 Nm of peak torque. 

Mercedes-Benz CLA EV Design Details

The Mercedes-Benz CLA EV is designed with a more sleeker yet modern profile with EV-specific design elements. At the front, it comes equipped with a blanked-off grille complimented in gloss black. It also features a slim LED light strip which gives it a wide and modern look.

There is also an inclusion of a similar LED strip placed at the rear linked with the tail-lights, giving the EV sedan a sophisticated appearance. Coming to the side profile, The CLA EV features a clean and is designed to enhance aerodynamic efficiency to improve overall handling of the electric car.
