Mercury EV Tech through its subsidiary PowerMetz Energy Pvt. Ltd. are all ready to develop a 3.2 GW lithium-ion battery pack manufacturing plant at its Vadodara campus, thus emerging as a new entrant in the battery manufacturing sector.

The company has also ordered a fully robotic, and high production unit from a top tier Chinese equipment provider for the manufacturing unit. The equipment is expected to arrive at the end of April 2025, with pilot productions scheduled to commence in mid-May 2025.

The manufacturing unit will also develop and establish various battery chemistries which includes, LFP (Lithium Iron Phosphate), NMC (Nickel Manganese Cobalt), Sodium-Ion Cells, and Super-capacitor Modules.

These facilities will also feature multi-chemistry flexibility, thus making it a big platform to serve all types of batteries, from electric vehicles to stationary energy storage.

Darshan Shah from Mercury EV-Tech limited expressed his thoughts on the company’s vision and expansion strategy by commenting, “Our Strategy is clear, to invest in advanced battery technologies, scale responsibly, and align accordingly with the country’s guidelines for sustainable development and domestic manufacturing of energy solutions.”
