MG Cyberster introduces an exciting new RWD variant. Is it set to debut in India

MG is going to bring excitement among EV performance enthusiasts by introducing their latest offering Cyberster in the Indian market. Already showcased at the Bharat Mobility Global Auto Expo 2025, this electric sportscar is gaining a lot of attention in the EV community even before its launch.

However, the company has not revealed the exact technical specifications of the Cyberster RWD, as it is also expected to make its entry into the Indian market. The Cyberster RWD has just been launched in Australia and is also available with an option of RWD variant, specifically positioned for affordable buyers. 

The price of the Cyberster RWD is set at $100,000, which is approximately Rs 54.67 Lakh. Let’s discuss what features and technology this version of the Cyberster gets. 

MG Cyberster RWD Design 

In terms of appearance, the Cyberster RWD mirrors the premium AWD model, showcasing the same appealing design that characterizes the distinctive identity of this electric sports car.

It even gets the same scissor-style door handles which resemble the iconic sportscars, and a power-operated soft-top roof for open-air driving feel. 

DESIGN CHANGES: There are subtle tweaks in the design to make it look different than the AWD variant, as it gets smaller 19-inch alloy wheels compared to the AWD’s bigger 20-inch alloys. 

The interiors of the RWD variant have nappa upholstery, unlike the Alcantara quality found in the top AWD variant, which gives the interiors a sense of luxury and unmatched comfort. 

MG Cyberster RWD Features

The RWD variant is specifically designed for budget-oriented customers, still it comes with a variety of features such as 10.25-inch central display, two 7.0-inch touchscreens adding quality to the touchscreen, 8-Speaker Bose sound system for an immersive driving experience. 

• Other features include wired Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Digital Radio, and satellite navigation. The RWD variant also gets dual-zone climate control with a PM 2.5 filter, heated and power adjustable front seats with memory settings. 

• Included in the package is a luxurious heated steering wheel, trimmed in leather
• MG has not cut down the safety features, irrespective of positioning it as an affordable variant, as it is equipped with Adaptive Cruise Control, Autonomous Emergency Braking, Lane Keep Assist, Blind Spot Monitoring, Lane Centring Assist.
• It also comes with rear cross-traffic alert with braking, and a driver monitoring system, which ensures a sense of safety and reliability. The RWD Variant will also come with front and rear parking sensors with an integration of Tire Pressure Monitoring System.

MG Cyberster RWD Battery & Performance

The Cyberster RWD will be powered by the same 77 kWh battery pack as the AWD variant but will be returning a longer claimed driving range of 552 Km (NEDC).

POWER: The performance is slightly down as compared to the AWD as the single rear-mounted motor generates 322 Hp of power and 475 Nm of torque, which makes the Cyberster RWD capable of achieving 0 to 100 Km/hr in a remarkable 5.2 seconds. 

The Cyberster RWD supports 144 kW DC fast charging, which can juice up the batteries from 10-80% in just 40 minutes.
