Kia is developing their next generation Seltos SUV, as there are plans of electrifying the Seltos by launching an EV version of the ICE model. Sources indicate that the brand is implementing a strategy similar to that of its sibling, Hyundai’s Creta Electric.
Various spyshots have given a hint that the 2026 next generation Seltos might get an all-electric model differentiated with EV styled elements to make it unique from the traditional gas powered and hybrid models.
However, there is no official clarification from the company regarding the EV variant of Seltos but as per various design evidences such as dual-front fascias specifically designed for differentiating the EV from its petrol counterpart.
2026 Kia Seltos: Expected Design
The camouflaged test vehicles feature two different front designs, Currently in the X-Line trim, changes are only done in the cosmetic department. However, the new Seltos will get various design changes to bumpers, grilles, and different alloy wheel designs to differentiate between the petrol and EV versions.
Both test models also featured charging ports at the front, which gives a speculation that one of the test models is purely electric vehicle (BEV). This gives a strong presence of an all-electric variant just like Hyundai’s Creta Electric as it also features various design inserts from the regular model while maintaining the original design of the SUV.
The Dual-front design could also be more like a stylish upgrade, as one totally belonging to the EV model, while the other fascia could be a sportier petrol or hybrid version of the upcoming Seltos.

The overall interior of the Seltos EV would be concentrated on providing a minimalist yet modern and new segment features with advanced technology and digital upgrades. The strength of Kia is luxury and comfort which are expected to continue in the new Seltos as well, thus elevating the user experience.
Next Generation Seltos EV Battery Packs & Performance
The soon-to-be-released Seltos EV may utilize battery packs and motors from the Hyundai Creta Electric, allowing it to offer battery pack choices of 42 kWh and 51.4 kWh. The battery will be integrated with a front-mounted motor generating around 169 BHP of maximum power and providing a claimed range up to 473 Km, similar to the Creta EV.
If we talk about a 0-100 Kmph timeline, it could be identical to Creta Electric’s 7.9 second time frame. The new Seltos could be also powered by hybrid powertrains which will put Seltos into direct competition with Toyota and Maruti’s SUV providing strong hybrids.
