Ola Electric has just unveiled their new MoveOS 5 Beta and have started accepting registrations for customers who are interested to use the new software in their scooters. The brand just posted this news from their social media platforms. This new software is available for Gen 1 and Gen 2 electric scooters.

The latest Gen 3 electric scooters are already equipped with MoveOS 5. Earlier this year, Ola Electric said that the Beta Testing will be initiated from the start of February, but was delayed, but as of now the stable MoveOS 5 software is yet to be announced.

Let’s discuss the new features of MoveOS 5.

Smart Park

This feature comes with the Beta software, as this feature is all set to enhance the throttle inputs and limits the scooter’s speed up to a certain limit, which ensures smooth handling in tight spots and parking areas, however the specifics of this feature is yet to be determined.

DIY Mode

This mode allows the rider to take control of the throttle sensitivity and advanced regenerative braking. This mode gives the accessibility to choose four levels to adjust the advanced regenerative braking and three settings for throttle sensitivity.

There is also an option to completely disable the advanced regeneration to access full control over the scooter.

SmartWatch App

Ola Electric has introduced a new and enhanced SmartWatch App with the new MoveOS 5. This app enables the user to monitor the analytics of their electric scooters directly from their smartwatch. There is also an option to unlock the scooter and access the boot using the smartwatch.

Road Trip Mode

The MoveOS 5 also features a new Road Trip Mode, which is specifically designed to assist users during group rides. This mode helps to display the directions to the destination on the main infotainment screen, along with the information about the other users connected on the ride.

This ensures proper connectivity between the groups and riders which are able to determine each other’s exact location on the dashboard.

Bharat Mood

There is also an addition of a new Bharat Mood theme, which is inspired from the national bird of India, the peacock. This theme is designed to provide essential information to the rider which includes range, music controls, riding modes, current speed, trip details, odometer, and time.

SOS Alerts

The MoveOS 5 also comes updated with SOS Alerts, as in cases of accidents, the software automatically sends an SOS notification and provides three emergency contacts on the screen to take help in cases of emergency.

Performance Upgrades

The MoveOS 5 has also significantly enhanced the acceleration, range, and overall power of the scooters. Ola says they have optimised the algorithms to provide superior acceleration and also worked on providing enhanced responsiveness.

They have also improved their battery management systems which helps to increase the range and improve charging performance.

Krutrim AI

Ola Electric has also introduced Krutrim AI with the new MoveOS 5 as it offers hands-free control of various scooter functions by the use of voice commands.
