Renault Introduced the Kwid EV in Brazil, codenamed as Kwid E-Tech

Renault has unveiled the Kwid EV in Brazil and has been codenamed as ‘Kwid E-Tech’. This news comes days after the test mules of the Renault Kwid EV were spotted testing on the internet. Let’s delve into the details about the all-new electric hatch.
Kwid EV New Updated Design
Visually, the Renault Kwid EV gets EV-specific design details such as closed-off grille, a charging point placed at the front, rocket-shaped DRLs and all-new designed projector headlights. Talking about the side profile, there is an addition of new black wheel arch claddings, ORVM-attached indicator lights, black side cladding, and addition of 14-inch dual-tone alloy wheels.
The door handles are the same old flap-type and look quite old as compared to the modern standards. The rear end comes embossed with E Kwid and E-tech badges.
New Kwid EV Interiors
On the inside, The Renault Kwid E-Tech is complemented with modern looking interiors and houses a 10.1-inch infotainment screen integrated with Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a console styled E-shifter, two USB-C ports and height-adjustable steering wheel.
The AC vents are integrated with rocket-like tri-wing finishes with accented bits, followed by a decent 290-litres of boot space.
Renault Kwid EV Battery & Performance
POWER: Renault has powered the new Kwid EV with a 26.8 kWh battery pack which is equipped with a 48 kW/113 Nm electric motor. Renault has claimed a 0-50 km/hr in just 4.1 seconds, and a 0-100 km/hr in just 14.6 seconds.
This small hatchback can be charged from 15-80% in just 40 minutes via a 30kW DC fast charger, and a respectable 2 hours 54 minutes for the same SoC range by using a 7.4 kW AC wallbox charger. Renault has revealed 180 Km of claimed range on a single charge.
On the safety-front, the Kwid E-Tech is loaded with safety features such as Level 1 ADAS integrated with 11 autonomous features, six airbags, ISOFIX, rear camera, hill-start assist, seat height adjustment, ABS, ESP, speed limiter, TPMS, auto-locking doors at a speed of 6 km/hr, and seat-belt reminders.
Renault has priced the Kwid E-Tech at an introductory price of BRL 99,990 Brazilian Real, which amounts to Rs 16 Lakh in Indian currency. However, Renault will be pricing the Kwid EV more competitively in India, specifically targeting budget-conscious consumers.
