The most commercially successful Kwid from Renault is soon to be revamped, with the company having been seen testing the new generation in India. What’s special about this car is that the company will be entering the Indian electric vehilce space with their first all electric Kwid EV. The company had plans to bring the electric version of the Kwid to India but there is no confirmation as yet.

Renault is currently testing their Kwid EV in Brazil, and it appears they are making significant efforts to launch the electric hatchback soon in the budget-friendly Indian market. However the same car has been spotted several times in India also. As the company prepares to launch the Kwid EV in Brazil, it is anticipated that the Kwid EV will make its debut in the Indian market around 2026.

New-Generation Kwid EV: Is this an Evolution?

The Kwid EV that is spotted in Latin America is basically a rebadged version of the Dacia Spring EV, as the overall design is pretty much the same. However if we compare with the current gen Kwid, the new generation model is visually different in design as the design has been inspired by contemporary Renault models that have been recently launched globally.

If we look at the spy shots, the new design incorporates an aggressive looking stance and has a striking similarity with the new generation Duster.

The face of the car looks bold and features sports LED headlamps with LED daytime running lights, and a protruding bumper.

Coming towards the rear of the car is a delta shaped connected taillight integrated by a thick black strip, as the bumper gets highlighted with an addition of beefy black cladding.

However there are no details about the interior of the car as it was covered, it is expected that the features and powertrains will be nearly identical to the Dacia Spring EV, which comes with a variety of features like dual digital screens, automatic A/C, Traffic Sign Recognition, and lane watch assist.
