Sterling Tools collaborates with cutting-edge electric machinery for magnet-free electric vehicle motors in India.

Sterling Tools Limited, which manufactures automotive components in India and is in the production of (MCUs) are going to commence the development, production and marketing of unique earth magnet-free traction motors, which are used in electric vehicles.
They will be developing these motors through their subsidiary, Sterling GTake E-Mobility (SGEM). The company is also collaborating with Advanced Electric Machines (AEM) Ltd, UK by signing a Technology Licensing Agreement between the two companies. They will be manufacturing these motors at their Faridabad plant. This agreement will also help SGEM to integrate the motors with the advanced patented technology of AEM.
The rise of magnet-free motors is a perfect solution to the permanent magnet motors, which are completely imported from global countries, as their demand is totally dependent on their supply chains.
Local Manufacturing of Traction Motors
This partnership will develop the market of traction motors by locally manufacturing them and their aim is to develop and grow the market to a next level, as this market is projected to reach the level of more than 15,000 crores by the end of this decade. This agreement will be also focussing towards joint manufacturing of integrated motors and controller systems.
This initiative will reduce the burden on imports and will promote local production of operations with the government's localization, thus creating independence in manufacturing electric motors in the EV space, thus creating an in-house developed ecosystem for EV components.
The chairman of Sterling Tools Limited, Anil Agarwal, expressed his views on this and said, “Sterling’s entry into manufacturing Rare Earth Magnet-Free Motors is showcasing the Group’s abilities to become an iconic technological player in the market.
We are expanding our operations beyond MCUs to position ourselves as a complete EV solutions provider, catering to the increased demand for advanced technology.
The Co-Founder and CEO of Advanced Electric Machines said on this topic by addressing, “The Indian automotive industry and sustainable mobility offers immense potential for growth and innovation.
Our joint collaboration with Sterling Tools will bring superior expertise in development of magnet-free motors, so that they are available to Indian consumers at an economical price.”
